Summary

Live Reporting

  1. Another difficult night in Wales for Ulster as they miss out on the chance to get into the top four. However, Ospreys are now unbeaten in five and are just a point off the play-off places.

That's all from Brewery Field tonight. You can read Ceri Coleman-Phillips' match report here but from us, it's goodnight. Thanks for joining us!

  2. Ulster Head Coach Richie Murphy speaking to Premier Sports:

Marcus Rea's yellow card was a massive moment and I think rugby is in trouble if something like that is penalised.

I don't think we got many decisions throughout the game but our set-piece wasn't good enough throughout and credit must go to the Ospreys.

We had a really good opportunity to get into the top four and we have missed it. Really disappointing.

  3. Ospreys Head Coach Mark Jones speaking to Premier Sports:

We made hard work of that in the second half and we considered taking the points when we were down by three but delighted to see the boys finally get that one over the line.

This group are so tight and the crowd getting behind us here at Brewery Field is always brilliant.

  4. Man of the Match James Ratti speaking to Premier Sports:

It was a big physical battle and we knew it would be. We knew we needed to at least match them and we did.

It was a big shift from all of the boys to get that one over the line.

  5. Michael Lowry flings a wide pass to Werner Kok on the right but the South African wing loses the ball forward as he stretches for the line and the full-time whistle blows.

Ulster's Welsh woes continue while Ospreys are now unbeaten in five.

  6. Jack Murphy pops a penalty into the corner as we tick towards the red. Can Ulster at least salvage a point?

  7. Michael Lowry mis-controls Owen Watkin's kick through and Daniel Kasende pounces right on the try line for a score.

Jack Walsh adds the extras again and Ulster are now out of bonus point range with less than two minutes remaining.

  8. Michael Lowry struggles to deal with Owen Watkin's grubber and Daniel Kasende thinks he may have grounded this.

  9. Not only is the try disallowed but Marcus Rea is yellow carded so, with five minutes left on the clock, Ulster will finish the game with 14 men. A huge moment in this game.

  10. Marcus Rea has been penalised for a dangerous clear-out as his shoulder makes contact with Owen Watkin's head.

  11. Oh hold on, a TMO check is incoming for a potentially dangerous clear-out by Marcus Rea...

  12. At long last, the hosts get over the line. It all came from a Jack Walsh break and yet another Ulster penalty gives the hosts field position.

After a couple of phases. blindside, James Ratti crashes over for a try that Walsh converts.

Ulster have had next to no possession and even less territory in the second half. Can they respond?

  13. Ospreys miss the jumper at the line-out and the ball is spilled at the back. All night, Ulster have given the hosts ample opportunities for scores but, each and every time, they have either wasted it or been thwarted.

  14. Yet another Ospreys scrum penalty put into the corner. Will they finally make the most of this domination?

  15. Ceri Coleman-Phillips
BBC Sport Wales at the Brewery Field

A big round of applause for Wales prop Gareth Thomas who leaves the field on his 150th Ospreys appearance.

His 100th appearance also came against Ulster.

He remembers losing that game, will he have something to celebrate tonight?

  16. Another crooked throw from Rob Herring. Goodness me, Ulster are a glutton for punishment tonight.

  17. Brilliant counter-rucking from David McCann wins Ulster a penalty. Great work at the breakdown from the visitors but wasteful yet again from Ospreys.

  18. Another scrum and - you guessed it - another Ospreys penalty despite front row replacements for both teams.

Jack Walsh goes to the corner again and puts it within five metres. Great boot from the American-born out half.

  19. Replacement hooker Rob Herring's line-out throw is crooked and gifts Ospreys possession again.

Ulster cannot get themselves out of danger for long.

  20. Ulster put their bodies on the line yet again and it pays off yet again! The Ospreys are camped on the line but they are penalised for holding on to the ball on the ground.

How big could these defensive sets be for Richie Murphy's men?
